From the 1920's to 1930's, a new artistic movement from the period « La Belle Epoque » succeeds in the Art Nouveau. It's a mixture of modern forms and geometrics style. We can find it in the ornamentation (ironwork, mosaic, furniture, jewelry), and then in the architectural style, with some simple forms inspired by the « Cubisme »

After the First World War, the city needs to rebuild itself. The Art Deco is growing rapidly.

Arras is devastated during the Great War, but completely rebuilt and heritage restored.

The Modern Hotel is built in the late twenties under the influence of Art Nouveau and Art Deco of the time, and made  with moderne materials and new techniques used in those years.
